A while ago, we have received a question about whether IBIS will incorporate a staff accountability system, possibly as part of the Human Resources system. This sort of system could take several different forms:
Most agencies would not use this sort of system, but some agencies might be able to use it. For example, in certain types of secure institutions, where resident or staff safety and security are concerns, this sort of system might help ensure that people without certain types of clearance do not inappropriately enter certain areas that they should not enter. A few agencies that have these certain unique needs have been using such systems for years.
The IBIS Project won't be undertaking detailed analysis of this issue for several weeks, but we want to know what agency needs and desires are. We haven't decided yet if IBIS would include such systems, or if agencies would continue to use the systems they already have. These existing systems would then interface to the IBIS systems, as necessary.
Please take a few minutes to let us know about your agency's staff accountability systems. Please provide a few words about:
The IBIS Project wants to benefit from your agency's experience, so please describe any challenges your agency has had with the system and how you addressed these. Please also provide the name, phone number, and e-mail address of a person we can contact for more information.
Please send this information to the IBIS e-mail box: DOAIBIS@wisconsin.gov
Thanks for raising this question.
(This was revised a few hours after the original post was made -- it was somewhat misleading. We trust it's better now.)
